We are very happy to announce a new charity partner sign on to Choose Your Charity!

Samaritan's Purse is a charity based out of Alberta, Canada. They have been providing assistance to those in need since 1970. Samaritan's Purse is one of Canada's top rated charities of 2013.

What they do:
"We partner with our supporters in Canada and with local organizations (usually churches) abroad to provide compassionate and cost-effective assistance to anyone who needs it, regardless of religion, race, gender or socio-economic standing."
Samaritan's Purse also provides emergency relief programs to those in need around the globe by offering food, water, and temporary shelter in critical times of need.

Have you ever heard of Operation Christmas Child? Samaritan's Purse is the charity behind the charitable christmas shoe box program.  The program provides help and joy to children around the world at Christmas time.

Fresh & Retro Maybe Looks For Spring

The April showers were upon us this weekend (literally). But we were too busy to notice, shooting fresh new looks for the VERY FIRST EVER Maybe By Catalfo lookbook!

We welcomed in the Spring season with style! 

 From morning to afternoon we were living in a 60's dreamland; The hair. The eyes. The dresses!!!

Vanessa Baudner recreated Twiggy's iconic lashes, and Amber Fairlie made up a fabulous Audrey-inspired up do. Our Maybe girls, Danielle Henne and Jesse Bondar were pretty in pastels with a 60's Twist! 

 To make it even better our photographer Misha Tiexeira even brought the 60's music! 

 Since this is a big moment for Maybe, we wanted to share a few behind the scenes shots with you!

Custom Dress Designed for Toronto Memory Ball

The month of March was dedicated to a very special project, in anticipation of the annual Memory Ball in Toronto. Maybe has been busy designing a custom made dress for this event.

The Memory Ball brings together more than 500 guests in support of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto. An incredible evening of cocktails, delicious hors d’oeuvres, great music, dancing, and more. We're very proud to have a custom Maybe dress be worn to such a great event!

This dress is a special design for Tristan. We love the look because her Maybe dress is appropriately formal with an edge. The clean lines of this dress make it very minimalistic and fashion forward. Everyone loves to get dressed up but it's important to stay true to your own style!

What Inspires The Mind Of A Designer

Many of the fun and quirky things below really intrigue and inspire me to be creative.When I feel inspired by something my eyes feel hungry for the colours and texture of what is infront of me. Somehow I just feel the desire to be a part of the aethetics and blend in.

This is when I usually start to sketch out a new design for a dress. All of the other elements fall into place faster than I can even finish the illustration. By the time the sketch is done (on paper or simply in my head) I already know the exact colours of the fabric, the design would be in and the fit of the dress. Once my ideas are on paper I feel so much better, it's actually a relief to get my thoughts out of my heads. All of that inspiration has now been applied to creating something new.
