We asked real brides, for real tips
Here's what you need to know...
1. Prepare To UnPlug!
"Enjoy some time with just you and your better half, don't post all of your honeymoon for others to see - feel free to share the pictures/experiences once you are home. But really just take some time to enjoy the experience, the food, the culture, the scenery and of course the company and truly unplug from everyday life. I promise you won't regret it!" - Amber
2. Confirm Your Itinerary Details
"If you've used a booking agent double check your schedules and departure places/times with the company you're traveling with. We took a cruise out of Italy and our travel agent sent us to the wrong port. Luckily the right one was only a 30 minute train ride back the way we came, but needless to say it was a stressful couple of hours that could have been avoided" - Claire

3. Don't Wait.
"Book it and go right away! Otherwise, you'll be stuck taking it 2.5 years later!" - Danielle

4. Check Business Hours
"If there are certain specialty foods/place you want to eat and visit. Check that they are open on the day you want to go (make a reservation if possible), and check which days they are serving the dishes. Some specialties are only made on certain days, etc. You don't want to go for something specific and be disappointed after being seated for your romantic date!" - August In Bloom

5. Choose Your Own Adventure
"Plan a trip that represents you as a couple. A lot of media depicts a beach destination as the standard honeymoon, but that may not suit every couple. We spend out honeymoon kayaking and hiking around Newfoundland and loved every second of it." - Alisha

6. Don't forget to...
"Pack pretty lingerie" - Alisha
7. Focus On The Extra Special Details
"When planning our honeymoon we wanted to spend more money on a room that had more features, versus spending money on a more fancy resort. Our room had a swim up pool, ocean view, and butler service for the same price of a standard room at a Sandals resort. It made the experience feel more special." - Brittany
